Connecting Stripe to Oryon
Oryon reads your Stripe account once a day and shows gross and net revenue, refunds, fees, new customers, subscriptions and MRR beside your advertising, social, web analytics and CRM data. Oryon only ever reads from Stripe — it never creates or changes anything in your account.

Before you start
An Oryon workspace and the right role
Stripe is connected from inside an existing Oryon workspace. Only a workspace owner or admin can connect, configure or disconnect a source; a member who opens Connections is sent back to the dashboard.
A Stripe account you can authorise applications for
You approve the connection on Stripe's own screen, so you need to be able to authorise an application on the Stripe account you want Oryon to read.
The Beta chip
The Stripe card carries a Beta chip. It does not change how you connect — the steps below are the same as for any other source.
Connect Stripe
Open Connections
In Oryon, choose Connections in the left sidebar. Stripe appears in the Revenue category of available connectors.
Choose Connect on Stripe
You are sent to Stripe, which shows "Oryon Data would like to access your Stripe account" and lists the access being granted.
Approve the access
Approving returns you to Oryon with the connection in place. The banner reads "Stripe is connected." and the card shows Connected.
Nothing to configure
There is no account or resource to pick: syncing starts automatically and there is nothing else to set up.
Wait for the first sync
The first sync backfills up to 365 days of history, fetched from Stripe in 30-day segments, so your charts and period comparisons work immediately. It runs in the background; until it finishes, the Stripe source page reads "Connected — waiting for the first sync to bring in data." with a Load data button that runs the sync right away instead of waiting for the nightly run.
What Oryon reads
The Stripe source page shows a funnel from Net revenue to New subscriptions to Cancellations to Churn rate, and the figures below.
From balance transactions
| Figure | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Gross sales | Sales that day |
| Refunds | Refunds that day |
| Net revenue | Gross sales minus refunds |
| Stripe fees | Stripe's fees that day |
| Net after fees | The net amount of the day's transactions after Stripe's fees |
From customers and subscriptions
| Figure | What it counts |
|---|---|
| New customers | Customers created that day |
| New subscriptions | Subscriptions created that day |
| Cancellations | Subscriptions cancelled that day |
| Active subscriptions | The subscriptions active at the time of the sync |
| MRR | The monthly equivalent of every active subscription item, multiplied by its quantity |
Active subscriptions and MRR are a reading of your account as it stands when the sync runs, stamped on the last day of the sync window — they are not recomputed for past days. Three rules shape MRR. A trialing subscription counts as active but adds no MRR until it converts. A tiered or usage-based price adds zero rather than dropping the subscription. Discounts, tax and metered usage are not modelled.
Currency and timezone
Only your account's settlement currency is counted; a transaction in another currency is skipped and counted separately. Days are bucketed in your Stripe account's dashboard timezone.
About the access Stripe grants
Because Oryon is registered with Stripe as a Platform, Stripe does not offer it a read-only grant. Oryon nevertheless performs reads only: the adapter never creates or changes anything in your account.
What is stored
Daily totals only — one number per metric per day. Oryon does not store charges, customers or subscription records, and nothing identifying a person is retained.
Keeping data current
Automatic daily sync
Oryon re-reads your account once a day and refreshes a trailing window, so a refund issued after the fact or a cancellation recorded later corrects itself without any action from you. Active subscriptions and MRR are not re-derived for past days — they stay the snapshot stamped on the sync day.
Refresh now
The Stripe source page has a Refresh button in its header. It runs the sync immediately and reports "Data refreshed." If it cannot run, it says "Couldn't refresh right now. Please try again in a moment."
Choosing a period
The period picker offers Months, Quarters, Years and a Custom range. A day with no data shows a dash, not a zero.
Disconnecting
Open Connections and choose Disconnect
Find the Stripe card and choose Disconnect. This removes the connection and its credential from Oryon.
Revoke Oryon on Stripe's side, if you wish
In the Stripe Dashboard, open Settings, then Authorized applications, find Oryon Data and choose Revoke. Stripe tells Oryon by webhook; the connection is marked "Stripe connection was revoked from the Stripe dashboard (401)." and the card shows Reconnect required.
Your history is kept
The daily totals already synced are kept, so the Stripe page keeps showing past periods and reconnecting later restores your history instead of starting over.
Troubleshooting
"Stripe connection was revoked from the Stripe dashboard (401)."
Access was revoked from the Stripe Dashboard, and the card shows Reconnect required. Choose Reconnect and approve Stripe's screen again.
Figures differ from the Stripe Dashboard by a day
Oryon buckets days in your Stripe account's dashboard timezone. A report built in another timezone places a transaction near midnight on a different day.
A currency is missing
Only your account's settlement currency is counted. A transaction in any other currency is skipped and counted separately, so it never appears in the money figures.
MRR is lower than expected
Three rules lower MRR against a back-of-the-envelope figure: a trialing subscription counts as active but adds no MRR; a tiered or usage-based price adds zero; discounts, tax and metered usage are not modelled.
The account is in test mode
A test-mode account, or a live account that has not finished onboarding, still syncs — but its figures are not live revenue.
"We couldn't finish connecting Stripe. Nothing was saved — please try again."
The connection did not complete and nothing was stored. Choose Connect on the Stripe card and try again.

Next steps
Connecting Zoho CRM to Oryon
Oryon reads your Zoho CRM org once a day and shows leads, contacts, deals, deal value and won revenue beside your advertising, social, web analytics and payment data. The connection is read-only and works with orgs hosted on Zoho's Canadian data centre.
Connecting Shopify to Oryon
Oryon reads your Shopify store once a day and shows orders, gross sales, refunds and net revenue beside your advertising, social, web analytics and CRM data. Oryon only ever reads from Shopify — it asks for read access to orders and never changes anything in your store.
